Christina Perri Targets Aussies with Jar of Hearts

CHART REFLECTION. The 24-year old Philadelphia singer-songwriter Christina Perri has her eyes set on Australia according to Kovideo. Her No.3 hit single “Jar of Hearts” became a US top 20 hit on the back of its inclusion on So You Think You Can Dance USA. Initially released in July 2010, the song headlines the debut set Lovestrong. Christina Perri has created a special web-site where fans may share love stories. The singer has already been featured on Glee, as “Jar of Hearts” was featured in the “Prom Queen” episode this May.

Will Best Night Follow LMFAO’s Champagne Showers?

CHART SPOTLIGHT. By now, we’re all familiar with the LA based electro hop recording duo LMFAO. Their “Party Rock Anthem” finally ascended to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, in addition to topping the tallies in countries such as New Zealand, the UK, Austria, Brazil and Denmark.

The group has already managed to produce a follow up – “Champagne Showers” which features the English singer-songwriter Natalia Kills on guest vocals. Kills issued her debut set Perfectionist on the German market this April – it contains her debut single “Mirrors.”

Rumours say that the third single off LMFAO’s album Sorry for Party Rocking will be “Best Night.” Featuring will.i.am, GoonRock and Eva Simons as guests, the track is bound to hit the charts. Nevertheless, expect “Party Rock Anthem” to last although the summer!

Adele Atop of Australia’s Singles and Album Tallies

CHART SPOTLIGHT. According to Digital Spy, “Someone Like You” still rules the Australian singles chart. WelcheMusic has already highlighted the upcoming new hit single from Adele – “Set Fire to the Rain.” On an interesting note, Muzic Magazine highlights that the singer tops both the singles and albums chart despite never setting foot in the country.

LFMAO remains the runner-up with “Party Rock Anthem,” where Christina Perri moves 6-3 with “Jar of Hearts.”

Katy Perry – who had to cancel shows due to food poisoning, falls to No.6 with “Last Friday Night.” Elsewhere on the chart, Bruno Mars cracks the top ten with “Marry You.”

The Wanted Is So Glad You Came

CHART SPOTLIGHT. Expect The Wanted to cart this Sunday with the latest single “Glad You Came.” The track was released yesterday in the UK and follows the charity single “Gold Forever” previously covered by WelcheMusic.

In August 2010, WelcheMusic stated that “boy bands return with a vengeance as the UK welcomes The Wanted” and their debut hit “All Time Low.” Since then, the group has placed four singles on the singles tally.

“Glad You Came” also features new remixes from Alex Gaudino as well as the band’s cover of The Goo Goo Dolls “Iris.” In January, The Wanted performed their rendition of the classic City of Angels anthem on a session hosted by UK news paper The Sun.

DJ Earworm has already included “Glad You Came” in his latest mash-up, and the track has been reviewed by the likes of Musicreviews10, Mukki, and The Gizzle Review.
