Philip Philips Earns a Canadian iTunes No.1

This year’s American Idol winner Philip Philips earns a No.1 position on the current Canadian iTunes Store chart (upd. 5/27). Officially released as a download on May 23, it is set to bow on the Billboard Hot 100 in its next edition. In the US, Philip Philips has not been able to unseat Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe,’ who tops the iTunes chart ahead of Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used to Know.’

Beatles on iTunes=2m Downloads

Music Week reports that The Beatles have sold 450,000 albums digitally and more than 2m tracks following the availability on iTunes. Robert John “Mutt” Lange’s Ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest

Don’t be surprised if a Robert John “Mutt” Lange track ends up as Sweden’s entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Famous for legendary hits such as ‘All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You,’ ‘You’re Still the One’ and ‘(Everything I Do) I Do It for You,’ Lange is testing new waters. The song-writer has penned FO&O’s boyband-esque track ‘Gotta Thing About You’ together with Tony Nilsson.
