CHART SPOTLIGHT. By now, we’re all familiar with the LA based electro hop recording duo LMFAO. Their “Party Rock Anthem” finally ascended to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, in addition to topping the tallies in countries such as New Zealand, the UK, Austria, Brazil and Denmark.
Following the global success of “The Time (Dirty Bit),” Black Eyed Peas returns to the charts with another single off The Beginning. Produced by will.i.am, DJ Ammo and Rodney Jerkins (who produced “Telephone” w/Gaga-Beyoncé), the track vaults into No.9 on the German singles chart this week. The track has so far peaked at No.38 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lady Gaga is set to top the Hot 100 tomorrow, making it the 1,000th No.1 single in the History of the chart. “Born This Way” is also the title off her third studio album, which is scheduled for release on May 23. Sources say that “Born This Way,” which has been compared to Madonna’s “Express Yourself,” sold more than 450,000 downloads within its first three days of release since Friday 11th March. WelcheMusic expects the track to make a high debut on the Swedish chart later this week.
