Britney Spears managed to draw 13.3 million viewers to the Glee homage episode. Rumors say that Susan Boyle is scheduled to appear this December. The Scottish sensation will release her second album, The Gift, on Nov.8 and will have a 1960s feel since it’s her era. No single has been released as yet, but already Boyle has appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show. Glee has already attracted guest stars as Javier Bardem and Gwyneth Paltrow to appear on the show.
CHARTS SPOTLIGHT.Call it out for Jay, Siva, Nathan, Max and Tom – The Wanted – the hottest boy band this side of summer. “All Time Low” topped the UK singles chart earlier in August and the follow-up, “Heart Vacancy,” bows at No.2 this week. The Danes Cutfather, Jonas Jeberg and Lucas Secon have co-written the track with boy band veteran Wayne Hector (Il Divo, Westlife and Boyzone). The self titled debut set The Wanted was issued today. The album includes tracks written by Rami (Britney Spears), Cathy Dennis (Kylie Minogue, Sugababes) as well as Taio Cruz.
WelcheMusic highlighted that the boy bands have returned to the charts in an earlier blog post. Despite being Irish-British, The Wanted’s chart career in Ireland has been rather disappointing. “All Time Low” only made it to No.13 and “Heart Vacancy” only manages to reach No.18 in its first week. It’s also interesting to note that the singles haven’t been released elsewhere.

The “Glee” cast adds another sex debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 to be released on Thursday. “Toxic” is the highest new entry at No.16, still short of Britney Spears’ peak at No.9. The song reached the peak position in the UK in March 2004 as well as a topping the European Hot 100. Co-written by Swedes Bloodshy & Avant, Henrik Jonback with Cathy Dennis, the track was initially offered to Kylie Minogue. The Sept.28 episode of “Glee” was a celebration to Britney Spears, and the actress even paid the cast a visit on the show. The episode attracted 13.5m viewers. Interesting to note, the show’s ratings took a 24% tumble the following episode.
