LMFAO’s party rock anthem trails J.Lo

CHART SPOTLIGHT. The L.A. based electro hop duo LMFAO is trailing J.Lo in the UK with the latest hit “Party Rock Anthem.” A WelcheMusic favorite, the track features Lauren Bennett and GoonRock and has fared much better in Europe than in the US. Currently sitting at No.2 in the UK, the track has also made the top ten in Scotland, Ireland and Denmark in addition to Australia and Canada.

So far, it has peaked at No.78 on the Hot 100. “Party Rock Anthem” is the first single off the sophomore album Sorry for Party Rocking. LMFAO got its breakthrough back in December 2008 with “I’m in Miami Bitch” (clean version “I’m in Miami Trick”). A mashup version of DJ Chuckie’s “Let the Bass Kick” and “I’m in Miami Bitch” created a UK No.9 hit (titled “Let the Bass Kick in Miami Bitch”).

LMFAO was also featured on David Guetta’s hit “Gettin’ Over You” with Chris Willis and Fergie.

Sidney Samson Sets the Charts on Fire

CHART SPOTLIGHT. We’re so glad that Sidney Samson returns! Back in January 2010, WelcheMusic covered Sidney Samson’s “Riverside.” Peaking at No.2 in the UK, the track sampled Tupac Shakur from the film Juice.

Featuring the vocals of Tara McDonald, the progressive house DJ Sidney Samson releases the new single “Set Me On Fire.” Tara McDonald is no newcomer to the club scene. She’s previously worked with the likes of Armand Van Helden and Axwell on the monster hits “My, My, My” and “Feel the Vibe.” She also co-wrote the David Guetta 2008 hit “Delirious.”

Samson was born in 1981 and is of Dutch origin. Last year, he also collboarated with Afro Jack on “Quacky,” an electro house monster which seriously put the dancefloors on fire.

WelcheMusic will keep a close eye on Tara McDonald’s upcoming projects! Check out the track Sidney Samson – Set Me On Fire via Spotify (Sweden).

Flo Rida Turns Around

CHART SPOTLIGHT. Originally released in November 2010, Flo Rida’s “Turn Around (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)” makes its official debut on the Swedish singles tally this week at No.54. The Haiti-American rapper and singer Flo Rida, née Tramar Tillard (1979), got his breakthrough in 2007 with the US No.1 “Low” (feat. T-Pain). He has released three studio albums to date and was the first one to break Ke$ha on “Right Round” – a No.1 hit in 2009.

His collaboration with David Guetta yielded one top ten hit earlier this year, but “Turn Around” only made it to No.98 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track reached the top twenty in Australia and Germany.

WelcheMusic is eager to see if the follow-up single “Who Dat Girl” (featuring Akon) might just changed that. Released as the follow-up to “Turn Around,” it has so far peaked at No.29 in the US.
