T-Pain featuring Lily Allen and Wiz Khalifa’s ‘5 O’Clock’ was the fastest rising track on last.FM’s Hyped Tracks chart last week. Following ‘Best Love Song,’ the track was the second official single off T-Pain’s fourth studio album Revolver, released 6th December. The track was issued in the US at the end of September, yet it wasn’t released in the UK until 4th December. It has reached the top ten in both territories.
Lily Allen’s contribution is an original sample of the vocalist’s track ‘Who’d Have Known’ off It’s Not Me, It’s You (2009). The music video was shot in De Wallen, Amsterdam’s red-light district. The third single – ‘Bang Bang Pow Pow’ – featuring Lil Wayne, was released last month.
‘5 O’Clock’ shot in Amsterdam, Holland.

CHART SPOTLIGHT. Expect the second single off Chris Brown’s latest album F.A.M.E. to receive renewed interest as “Look at Me Now” picks up a BET Award in the Collaboration category. Issued in February, the track manage to top the US R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Rap Songs charts. The track has also been covered by Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber. His partners Lil Wayneis currently charting with J-Lo and Enrique Iglesias while Busta Rhymes is featured on tracks with Tïesto and Tech N9ne.
WelcheMusic recently covered Brown’s Australian hit “Beautiful People” which has broken internationally.
CHART REFLECTION. Imagine the past week at the Lopez-Anthony house. First there was the accidental nip slip on German television, when J-Lo was in Europe to promote her latest Love? album. Some say she might not return to American Idol next season. Why, you might ask. According to celeb mag In Touch, it’s Marc Anthony urging his wife “to spend more time with him and their children.” Then there’s the rumor saying that $12m isn’t enough compensation to sit at the judge’s table alongside Steven Tyler.
WelcheMusic closely monitors the career of Jennifer Lopez and posed the question if she would ever return to her former glory this March. It turned out to be more than true as she hasn’t been this hot in ages. Currently charting with “I’m Into You,” she does seem to have a bit of a challenge coping without Pitbull. While “On the Floor” managed to climb the top three, the former track peaked at No.72 on the Hot 100. Co-written by Taio Cruz, Lil Wayne and the Norwegian duo StarGate, this is certainly one of the best r’n’b tracks of the year.
We’re certainly looking forward to the next single and hope that Jennifer Lopez indeed returns to American Idol for another season.
