Danny & Freja to Seduce UK Dancefloors with Explicit Video

CHART SPOTLIGHT. Last night, Danny Saucedo gave out Swedish points in the Eurovision Song Contest. The singer, who was the runner-up in the Swedish Melodifestivalen is on his way to get his breakthrough in the UK this summer. As reported by the fantastic music blog Scandipop, his debut single will be a new version of his 2007 hit “If Only You.”

Co-written by Michael Zitron, one of Swedish House Mafia’s song-writers originally included Therese in the originally version. She is replaced by Freja in this new version. Quite odd as Therese actually had had  a string of hits in the UK and still release music in that territory.

A Year Passed Since Tinie Tempah Passed Out

2010 CHART REWIND. Exactly one year has passed since Tinie Tempah vaulted into the top of the UK singles chart with “Pass Out.”  The British rapper included singer Labrinth on his debut hit, who also joined him on the follow-up track “Frisky.”

According to Music Week, then 21-year-old Londoner Patrick Okogwu was the first Parlophone recording act to open their career with a number one debut since 1999, when film director Baz Luhrmann’s “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)” debuted atop of the singles chart.

Tinie Tempah’s pan-European breakthrough came with the Eric Turner collaboration “Written in the Stars.” That track also topped the UK singles chart last year. In addition, Tinie Tempah also joined Swedish House Mafia on “Miami 2 Ibiza” last year.

Tinie Tempah is currently charting with the Ellie Goulding collaboration “Wonderman,” the fifth single off his debut album Disc-Overy. This week, the Goulding collaboration reaches a new peak at No.12.

WelcheMusic notes that in Sweden, Tinie Tempah peaked at No.10 with both “Miami 2 Ibiza” and “Written in the Stars.”

Swedish House Mafia Races the Brazilian Airplay Chart

Swedish House Mafia’s “Miami 2 Ibiza” races the Brazilian airplay chart, vaulting 24-20 in its seventh week. The track features the British rapper Tinie Tempah and is also included on his album Disc-Overy.  “Miami 2 Ibiza” is the second single off the Swedish House Mafia’s album Until One, and has so far reached the top ten in Belgium, Ireland, the UK and pan-European singles chart. It topped the Dutch chart and the UK Dance chart.

In Brazil, the biggest hit on radio is The Black Eyed Peas’ “The Time (Dirty Bit)” which has spent three weeks at No.1 so far. Ivete Sangalo’s “Acelera Aê (Noite do Bem)” moves 11-8, while the former No.1 – Luan Santana’s “Adrenalina” – falls 6-7. Di Ferraro’s Abra a Felicidade” bows at No.82, The Killers returns to the charts at No.85 with “Boots” and “A Gente Se Vê Depois da Chuva” with Tomate is a new entry at No.93.

Will Bruno Mars Make the No.1 spot in Sweden?

Daniel Adams-Ray retains the No.1 spot in Sweden with “Gubben i lådan.” Adams-Ray is trailed by Bruno Mars’ worldwide hit at No.2. Mars recently performed on Saturday Night Live, where he sang the new single “Grenade.

In an extremely slow week, the top nine positions are unchanged from last week. The first sign of change is Tinie Tempah’s jump from 13-10 with “Written in the Stars.” Tempah’s collaborated with Swedish House Mafia, who sits firmly at No.14 with “Miami 2 Ibiza.”

The highest new entry comes from Ke$ha, whose recent Hot 100 No.1 Debut “We R Who We R” bows at No.22. She beats the former US Hot 100 No.1 Far East Movement, whose “Like a G6” enters at No.47. The recent novelty hit “Barbra Streisand” bows at No.57, unable to surpass Pitbull’s new hit “Hey Baby,” which claims the No.51 spot in its first week.
