Eric Saade Beats Danny Saucedo in Terms of Sales

The two teenage heart throbs might fend off that they’re going head to head in the Melodifestivalen final, but the sales chart says otherwise. Eric Saade’s “Popular” vaults into No.1 on the singles tally, while Danny Saucedo’s “In the Club” leapfrogs 29-2 in its second week. According to the Swedish news daily Aftonbladet, Saade says that Sara Varga is a fierce competitor in Saturday’s final.

Lena Is Taken By a Stranger

While Sweden let 32 artists compete in different heats, Germany chose another path. Last year’s winner Lena sang all the entries, so it didn’t come as a surprise that she will compete in Dusseldorf. “Taken By a Stranger” bows at No.2 on the German singles chart, unable to dethrone Bruno Mars’ “Grenade.” On the other hand, Swedish duo Roxette falls off the No.1 position on the album chart as Lena’s album Good News finally ascends to the top.

As previously reported, Love Generation unfortunately failed to qualify for the 2011 Melodifestivalen final this Saturday. The debacle and further criticism has led to SVT revealing the actual results and despite an error in the voting procedure this didn’t affect the results.
