Let England Shake is the first album since the 2009 release of A Woman and a Man Walked By. The set peaked at No.25 on the UK album chart, reaching its highest position in Belgium (No.11). Her highest peak in the UK is the 1993 album Rid of Me. WelcheMusic previously reported on the anticipated release of Adele’s new album 21, which provides a great start of the UK music scene.

At 22, Adele is already a multi-Grammy Awards nominee and was also the first recipient of the BRIT Awards Critics’ Choice Award. She was signed to XL Recordings via her MySpace page where she posted a three-song demo.

Despite the fact that Adele hasn’t issued any new material since 2008, her last single “Make You Feel My Love” has re-visited the charts during the fall. Interest of her interpretation of Bob Dylan’s song resurged following Annastasia Baker’s audition performance of the track on  The X Factor. “Make You Feel My Love” currently moves 33-31 in its 39th week on the UK singles tally. It’s also No.85 on the Top 100 Downloads of All Time chart.

Adele has only released one album to date – the 2008 debut 19. Coincidentally, her first hit single “Hometown Glory” peaked in her native UK at No.19 in 2008. Attempts were being made to break her in the US, but the track failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Her biggest hit to date is the follow-up single “Chasing Pavements” which managed to reach No.2 in the UK while 19 topped the album tally. This time, Adele cracked the US market reaching No.21 on the tally receiving a gold certification. Her album peaked at No.10 on the Billboard 200.

It’s interesting to note that “Tired” was released as a single in Spain, further to a Heineken campaign. Another track  – “My Same” – charted only in Germany, following an appearance in a national TV show there.

UPDATED 02-06: Adele vaults in at No.2 on the Swedish album tally with 21. This bests her No.11 peak with 19 by far. “Rolling in the Deep,” however, only manages to bow at No.55.
