Avicii Adds a Fourth Week Atop with Levels

Avicii - Levels

Swedish DJ Avicii’s ‘Levels’ remains atop the Swedish singles chart, fending off challenge from Rihanna and Calvin Harris. Building on the 1962 gospel-inspired ‘Something’s Got a Hold on Me’ by Etta James, the sample also builds the chorus of Flo Rida’s ‘Good Feeling.’

I’ve previously blogged about the clash between Leona Lewis and Avicii. The former X-Factor winner used the same sample in her hit ‘Collide’ as Avicii’s ‘Fade Into Darkness.’ It was quickly solved as the DJ was co-credited on Lewis’s track.

Back to Etta James, ‘Something’s Got a Hold on Me’ managed to reach No.37 on the Hot 100 back in 1962. To date, ‘Levels’ has peaked at No.66 on the same chart. Avicii also reached the top spot in Scotland.
