Eric Prydz Returns with ‘Niton (The Reason)’

CHART SPOTLIGHT. The Swedish house producer Eric Prydz is expected to return to the singles chart on Sunday with his latest single “Niton (The Reason).” This is the first single to be released since “Pjanoo” in 2008, a track that peaked at No.2 in the UK. It also managed to reach the top ten in Sweden, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Prydz got his breakthrough back in 2004 when “Call on Me” sold 4.5m copies worldwide. Based on Stevie Winwood’s “Valerie,” the video featured a 1980s dance class. Strangely enough, “Call on Me” was sampled in its turn on Chris Brown and Dutch singer Eva Simon’s track “Pass Out.” WelcheMusic covered Eva Simon’s breakthrough hit “Silly Boy” a while back.

In addition to his own career, Eric Prydz has remixed tracks for Calvin Harris, Faithless, Felix Da Housecat and Duran Duran.

It’s time for WelcheMusic vol.3 fresh from the oven. Ke$ha storms the charts with the new album and we think that “Take It Off” is a contender for an upcoming single release. Owl City storms the UK singles chart this week with “Fireflies.” Let’s hope that the follow-up single “Vanilla Twilight” can repeat the success. Also included, current hits from Sidney Samson and the Glee Cast’s version of “Don’t Stop Believin’.” True to form, we’ve added bonus tracks. Jay-Z recorded “History” for the More than a Game soundtrack.
