Nayer & Pitbull Revive Elvis Crespo with Suave (Kiss Me)

CHART SPOTLIGHT.  The summer is far from over, and there will be plenty of chances to hit the clubs. WelcheMusic is convinced that the latest cover of Elvis Crespo’s 1998 hit “Suavemente” dubbed “Suave (Kiss Me)” will become a dancefloor filler. Hot on the heels of  “Give Me Everything,” Miami singer and model Nayer returns with the help of both Pitbull and Swedish singer Mohombi. Once again, RedOne has demonstrated his ability to deliver hits. Currently charting with Pitbull’s “Rain on Me,” the Swedish producer has delivered a track similar to Jennifer Lopez’ “On the Floor.”

Back to Nayer, the singer moved to Los Angeles at 14 haven appeared in several ads as well as TV programs such as Sábado Gigante and La piñata loca. Nayer’s new single “Suave (Kiss Me)” is not the first to sample “Suavemente.” In 2005, German techno act Scooter recorded the track. Translating into “smoothly” or “softly” in Spanish, the original is a merengue-style of song, a music and dance from the Dominican Republic. Elvis Crespo is a Puerto Rican-American Latin singer who broke out of the pop group Groupo Manía.

So Is J-Lo Leaving Idol?

CHART REFLECTION. Imagine the past week at the Lopez-Anthony house. First there was the accidental nip slip on German television, when J-Lo was in Europe to promote her latest Love? album. Some say she might not return to American Idol next season. Why, you might ask. According to celeb mag In Touch, it’s Marc Anthony urging his wife “to spend more time with him and their children.” Then there’s the rumor saying that $12m isn’t enough compensation to sit at the judge’s table alongside Steven Tyler.

WelcheMusic closely monitors the career of Jennifer Lopez and posed the question if she would ever return to her former glory this March. It turned out to be more than true as she hasn’t been this hot in ages. Currently charting with “I’m Into You,” she does seem to have a bit of a challenge coping without Pitbull. While “On the Floor” managed to climb the top three, the former track peaked at No.72 on the Hot 100. Co-written by Taio Cruz, Lil Wayne and the Norwegian duo StarGate, this is certainly one of the best r’n’b tracks of the year.

We’re certainly looking forward to the next single and hope that Jennifer Lopez indeed returns to American Idol for another season.

Pitbull Already Back with Pause+Rain

CHART REFLECTION. Despite climbing charts worldwide with “Give Me Everything,” an additional two singles have already been lifted off Pitbull’s Planet Pit album. “Pause” was issued in early June to promote the album and debuted at No.73 on the Hot 100. And the week after, “Rain Over Me” was released as the third featuring Marc Anthony!

Pitbull collaborated with Jennifer Lopez for “On the Floor” and this time it’s her hubby who’s the musical partner. Again, RedOne has co-written and produced the track which no doubt will set the charts on fire.

The eminent blog Popcrush gives it a 2/5 star rating say that “This song is true to Pitbull’s style, but it’s also very similar to a lot of other Pitbull songs. If it weren’t for Marc Anthony’s own Latin contribution — in English — we might think we’d heard this one before.”

Enrique Iglesias, Usher & Lil Wayne are the Dirty Dancers

CHART SPOTLIGHT. Included on both Enrique Iglesias’ Euphoria album and Usher’s first Versus EP, “Dirty Dancer” is set to storm the charts worldwide. Co-written and produced by the Swedish RedOne, the track was recorded in Miami. Iglesias performed the hit on American Idol on his own, mixing it with the top ten hit “I Like It.” Lil Wayne is also featured on the hit single “I’m Into You” with Jennifer Lopez.
