Miley Cyrus is expected to bow on the Billboard Hot 100 on June 9.

Currently atop the “Popular Chart” listing new music trending on Twitter,  20 year old Miley Cyrus returns with her first solo single since ‘Who Owns My Heart’ from 2010.

‘We Can’t Stop’ is co-written by the singer and Michael Williams, Timothy Thomas and Theron Thomas.  Mike Will Made It produced the track which was unveiled at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards last month.

Miley Cyrus described the song as ‘more funky and R&B, pop’ saying it’s ‘infectios’ in an interview with Ryan Seacrest. ‘We Can’t Stop’ was also premiered on Ryan Seacrest show on June 3, 2013. Expect the track to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in the coming week with expected sales of 180,000 to 200,000. It’s the first Miley Cyrus record released by RCA Records, previously being signed to Hollywood Records.

Despite not having put out any solo material, Miley Cyrus has been a frequent guest on other artists’ records. The artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg released ‘Ashtrays and Heartbreaks’ under the name Snoop Lion this April. The track is included on Snoop Lion’s set Reincarnated and debuted atop the Billboard Reggae Digital Songs on April 20. At the end of April, will.i.am featured Miley Cyrus on ‘Fall Down’ as well.

Miley Cyrus biggest hit to date is the 2009 hit ‘Party in the U.S.A.,’ which peaked at No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track succeeded another top ten hit, ‘The Climb’ which was lifted off the soundtrack of Hannah Montana: The Movie. The latter was later covered by The X Factor winner Joe McElderry. Despite placing ten hits on the UK singles chart, Miley Cyrus is yet to place a hit single inside the top ten. No less than three songs have peaked at No.11 – ‘See You Again,’ ‘The Climb’ and ‘Party in the U.S.A.’

Demi Lovato Rises like a Skyscraper


CHART REFLECTION. The former Disney Channel actress, now full-time pop singer Demi Lovato returns with “Skyscraper,” a ballad that deals with her recent challenges in life. The single will also pave way for her third album to be released this fall.

Quits Her Own Series

Only a few months ago, Demi Lovato was treated for physical and emotional issues. This turn in life subsequently led Demi Lovato to quit her own series, Sonny with a Chance. The show follows the talented Midwestern girl Sonny, who won a nationwide talent search thus moving to L.A. and star in a popular television series. The series follows her new personal and private life.

Née Demetria Lovato, the 18-year old chanteuse reigns from Dallas, Texas. She got her breakthrough in the Disney production Camp Rock with The Jonas Brothers. Lovato quickly became a Disney star alongside Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and aforementioned Jonas Brothers and she quickly found fame with the duet “This Is Me” with Joe Jonas.

Demi Lovato released her debut album Don’t Forget in September 2008. It peaked at No.2 in the US and was followed by her first chart-topper – Here We Go Again, which was released in July 2009.

Her third set is expected to bow sometime in the fall and carry the title of the new single Skyscraper. Produced and co-written by Toby Gad, the German producer who also produced Beyoncé’s “If I Were a Boy” and Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” the single was released digitally via iTunes only yesterday.

22-year old Jessie J has already penned hits for artists such as Miley Cyrus (“Party in the USA”), Justin Timberlake, Chris Browne and Christina Aguilera. The song “Sexy Silk” appears on the soundtrack of Easy A and “Who You Are” was used in the Step Up 3Dvie. Her debut single “Do It Like a Dude” has received great support from BBC Radio1 and debuted at No.25 on the UK singles tally last week.

X-Factor Joe McElderry Goes Norwegian

Cee Lo Green’s “F**k You” tops the chart again this Sunday as Radio 1 counts down the official UK singles tally. He is trailed by Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are” the former No.1 which moves 4-2 this week. The highest new entry samples “Gotta Go Home” – Boney M’s 1979 hit. Titled “Barbra Streisand,” the novelty act Duck Sauce gets its breakthrough hit. Duck Sauce consists of DJ’s Armand van Helden and A-Trak. The American DJ Van Helden is nothing short of a giant on the dance scene, his biggest commercial hit to date is “U Don’t Even Know Me” from 1999. Swedish DJ collective Swedish House Mafia manages to climb 5-4 with “Miami 2 Ibiza,” surpassing Tinie Tempah’s “Written in the Stars” which falls 3-5. This means that Tempah holds both the No.4 and 5 positions as he’s featured on “Ibiza.”

It has taken Joe McElderry a good ten months to follow-up “The Climb,” a UK No.1 from January this year. He returns to the chart with a track originally released by the Norwegian pop group Donkeyboy. He bows at No.6 with his cover version, mind you that his debut hit was a Miley Cyrus cover. The track bows at No.4 on the Irish chart.

Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow takes  a 2-7 drop with “Shame,” while Mike Posner’s “Cooler than Me” breaks into the top ten, leapfrogging 22-9. Usher & Pitbull returns to the top ten as well with “DJ Got Us Falling in Love.” Despite being most played song on UK radio before being released as a single, Michael Bublé bows at No.17. Robbie Williams vaults into the pole position on the album chart with In and Out of Consciousness: Greatest Hits 1990-2010, knocking Tinie Tempah’s Disc-Overy from the top spot. He lands at No.2, just ahead of Cliff Richard who is back with Bold as Brass, featuring classical standards.
