CHART SPOTLIGHT. Katy Perry has released yet another hit single from her Teenage Dream album. Again, Max Martin and Dr. Luke have written and produced ‘The One That Got Away’ which bows at No.22 on this week’s UK singles tally.

Just falling short of a top 20 position, Katy Perry is just behind Justin Bieber at No.21. Available in a range of remixes by the likes of 7^th Heaven and JRMX, the single has so far been unable to set the charts on fire in the US. To date, ‘The One That Got Away’ has peaked at No.94 on the Billboard Hot 100. Interesting to note, Katy Perry mashed her latest hit single with Adele’s No.1 hit ‘Someone Like You.’ See it below.

Britney Spears’ I Wanna Go Hits Radio Next Week

CHART SPOTLIGHT. Britney Spears fans all over the world are trying to get their hands on coveted Femme Fatale tickets for the upcoming tour. Expect busy days for Ticketmaster when Britney goes on tour. Following her recent duet with Rihanna on “S&M,” a third track is issued from her latest set.

Produced by the Swedes Shellback and Max Martin, “I Wanna Go” has already bowed on the Hot 100 as a digital download track off Femme Fatale. WelcheMusic has already picked up on the similarities with the Eurovision entry Eric Saade’s “Popular,” but according to Digital Spy, the track was written 1.5 years ago.

Glee+Max Martin=True

CHART REFLECTION. We’re looking forward to the return of Glee. WelcheMusic has already covered that Lykke Li’s music will be featured in the show, and for the first time the program will include original content. Two new songs will be released and our own favorite producer Max Martin has written one track for the new set Glee The Music: Volume 5 which was released on Monday.

Max Martin has co-written “Loser Like Me.” The other new song is called “Get It Right.” According to Music Week, Murray Rose, Head of Marketing at Glee’s record label Epic says that one of the reasons for this new route is that “radio can be reticent to play a cover.” Glee will keep to its original concept with covers, but viewers can expect new songs to appear in future episodes.

“Loser Like Me” is already topping the US iTunes chart with sales of 210,000 copies. Max Martin currently tops the Billboard Hot 100 with Katy Perry’s “E.T.”.

Will S&M become StarGate’s Ninth No.1?
