CHART REFLECTION. Only recently, WelcheMusic blogged about Tove Styrke’s latest single ‘Call My Name.’ Now, the singer turns up on the Umeå group Caotico’s latest single ‘Brains Out.’ According to Swedish Stereo, the track is an ‘absolutely lovable track with a funky careless mode and soft electronic sound.’ The track has already climbed iTunes’s Swedish singles tally.

In an earlier post, WelcheMusic wrote about New York Post’s paying a lot attention to Tove Styrke. The article said that she is one of ten artists to keep track on during 2011. It also notes that her record producers have also worked on tracks for Kylie Minogue and Hillary Duff.

ESC Winner Carola to Crown The Voice

CHART REFLECTION. We covered the super diva Carola Häggkvist after her performance at ‘Sommarkrysset’ earlier this summer. According to Aftonbladet, the singer will join the celebrity judges of ‘The Voice.’ These sources have not been officially confirmed by TV4. The panel will consist of merited Swedish artists Magnus Uggla, Ola Salo (of The Ark) and rapper Petter.

‘The Voice’ is a Dutch format owned by Talpa. Earlier this autumn, TV3 introduced a similar format dubbed ‘True Talent.’ The purpose of the show is that it’s primarily the voice that matters and not the physical appearance. WelcheMusic favorite Danny Sacuedo is one of the celebrities in ‘True Talent.’

Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5’s Adam Levin, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton form the panel of judges in the US. In the UK, Adele was rumored to become one of the celebrities.

Tove Styrke Returns with Call My Name

Tove Styrke - Call My Name
Tove Styrke is back with Call My Name

CHART REFLECTION. ‘Call My Name’ is the latest hit from the former Swedish Idol contestant Tove Styrke. Already a top ten seller on the Swedish iTunes tally, the track has also been picked up by the public service radio station P3.

Tove Styrke released her eponymous debut album via Sony last November. She has had a string of hits including ‘Million Pieces,’ ‘White Light Moment’ and ‘High and Low.’ The new track was recently premiered via the radio station NRJ.  Expect ‘Call My Name’ to be included on an upcoming album. Scandipop thinks it’s ‘quite in the same vein as “White Light Moment,”’ while Swedish Stereo says ‘it’s much tougher than any of previous Tove’s singles.’

WelcheMusic highlighted that New York Post paid a lot attention to Tove Styrke, saying that she was one of ten artists to keep track on during 2011. Not surprisingly, her record producers have also worked on tracks for Kylie Minogue and Hillary Duff.

Don Omar
Don Omar No1 in Sweden

CHART REFLECTION.  Don Omar finally ascends to the top as ‘Danza Kuduro’ knocks Chris Medina’s ‘What Are Words’ off the top in Sweden. As previously reported, the single was originally released last August. Definitely one of this summer’s greatest dancefloor smashes, WelcheMusic is not at all surprised to see it at the top of the chart!

‘Danza Kuduro’ was followed by ‘Huérfano de amor.’ Artists such as Pitbull, Shakira and Don Miguelo all appear on remixes of the track.
