Mumford & Sons are canceling the upcoming festival appearances in Denmark and Sweden as Marcus Mumford broke his hand. The band was scheduled to play the Hultsfred Festival this Saturday. An appearance on Northside Festival in Denmark is also canceled.

“It’s with sorrow in my heart that we were informed that Mumford & Sons are forced to cancel its concert at the Hultsfred Festival,” Ami Mörén, the Hultsfred festival’s press contact. According to Aftonbladet, the festival is working hard to find a replacement. I first wrote about the group in March 2011. According to DN, Mumford & Sons were one of the highlights alongside The Stone Roses, The Cure and Cardigans

According to SvD, Mumford & Sons new album will be released this September. The group played The Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg in 2010.

Their debut album ‘Sigh No More’ was released back in October 2009, peaking at No.2 in the UK two years later. The set includes four singles – ‘Little Lion Man,’ ‘Winter Winds,’ ‘The Cave’ as well as ‘Roll Away Your Stone.’ The album has so far sold 2.2m copies in the US alone.
