Mary J. Blige Brings a Tear to Every Market

Expect Mary J. Blige to make a return to the charts with the second single lifted from her Stronger withEach Tear set. “Each Tear” comes in no fewer than five versions. Rapper Jay Sean was the original artist, but is replaced with Tiziano Ferro (Italy), Vanessa Amorosi (Australia), Rea Garvey (Germany) and K’naan (Canada).

Tiziano Ferro is an Italian latin pop storm who debuted in 2001 with the worldwide hit “Perdono.” In 2004 he recorded a duet with British r’n’b singer Jamelia. The track, “Universal Prayer,” made it to No.1 in Italy, Spain and Greece. The Mary J. Blige collaboration has already made it to No.1 in Italy this March.

Vanessa Amorosi broke internationally with the 1999 hit “Absolutely Everybody,” but since success has been limited to native Australia. Some of you might remember her performance at the Sydney 2000 Olympis ceremony.

German Rea Garvey is the singer of the rock/pop act Reamonn. The group got its breakthrough back in 2000 with “Supergirl,” and has produced a string of hits ever since. Garvey has previously collaborated with Nelly Furtado on a version of “All Good Things (Come to an End).” Finally, K’naan is a Somali-Canadian poet, rapper and musician. He got a No.2 hit in Canada last year with “Wavin’ Flag.”

“Each Tear” is produced by Supa Dups, who previously worked with the likes of Akon, Kardinal Offishall and Sean Paul.
