Seven Out of Ten Top Entries from Melodifestivalen

No less than seven of the top ten entries of this week’s Swedish singles tally comes from Melodifestivalen. Eric Saade is still leading the pack with “Popular,” still trailed by Danny Saucedo’s “In the Club.” Leapfrogging from 10-3, Swingfly’s “Me and My Drum” manages to beat Sara Varga’s (11-4) and The Moniker’s (15-5) entries. This mean that the whole top five consists of sole schlager entries.

Lady Gaga Destined for US No.1

Lady Gaga is set to top the Hot 100 tomorrow, making it the 1,000th No.1 single in the History of the chart. “Born This Way” is also the title off her third studio album, which is scheduled for release on May 23. Sources say that “Born This Way,” which has been compared to Madonna’s “Express Yourself,” sold more than 450,000 downloads within its first three days of release since Friday 11th March. WelcheMusic expects the track to make a high debut on the Swedish chart later this week.

RedOne+Jennifer Lopez=Lambada

Will 2011 be the year Jennifer Lopez returns to the charts with the new single “On the Floor.” The track borrows heavily from Kaoma’s “Lambada” (1989) and features Pitbull as a guest rapper.
